CPD is a requirement for the maintenance of professional designations, applicable in many charitable and educational fields such as teaching, healthcare, and higher education. There is a deep need for capacity building of professionals in these sectors to help improve skills and performance for wider social impact. Through our work, NBA has discovered that, for CPD to be effective and impactful, it needs to be granular, targeted towards solving problems in the daily life of a professional, and based on effective needs analysis. Effective CDP strategies are evidence-based, collaborative, sustainable, and must be constantly evaluated to ascertain effectiveness.
