Today we celebrate International Day of Education. We are joining The World Bank by using #StartTheStory to highlight the pivotal power that books, stories, and reading materials have in transforming lives and building better futures.
The Early Learning Resource Network was established by The World Bank's Read@Home initiative to ensure that children experience the joy of reading and of reading in their own languages. We believe it is vital for all children to be able to read print storybooks – and a variety of them – in a language that they can understand. The ELRN team is excited to partner with organizations which are helping us make these print-ready book files available for governments and other organizations to adapt and print. All these wonderful partners are Start(ing) the Story and our team is here to support them to make these stories accessible for the long term to children around the world.
