The Creative Commons Global Summit took place from 20 to 24 September 2021. On 22 September, Mohini Baijnath and Neil Butcher had the pleasure of representing OER Africa at the conference, where they presented the initiative's ongoing research on African OER initiatives in higher education.
A growing number of African OER initiatives provide opportunities for educators, students, and higher education institutions to address issues relating to the access, supply, and contextualization of educational materials. OER Africa has embarked on research to analyse the effectiveness of eleven key African OER initiatives in higher education and the influence they have had on developing and supporting effective OER practices.
